Charter
Objectives
Save My Trees has been formed for the purpose of promoting coordination amongst Great Southern growers in relation to their Schemes.
Coordination is essential to ensure that we become an effective lobby group in dealing with the Government and receivers and administrators and other commercial parties.
In addition many possibilities may present themselves for establishing a commercial outcome for growers and it is essential we can harvest opinion on, and support for, these opportunities (where appropriate) in an efficient and timely manner.
Our Specific Objectives
1 - Protect and preserve the interest of growers
2 - Maximise the commercial outcome for a majority of growers
3 - Lead clear communication to growers and the industry
4 - Harness the support of all stakeholders
Focused Actions
Individually the growers are an easy target for the corporate world to divide and conquer. Together we stand a significantly improved chance of protecting our value and ensuring we receive what is rightfully our, ie. the chance to see our Schemes to harvest and to benefit from the commercial proceeds thereof.
Collectively we have substantial knowledge however, without the ability to extract that knowledge from everyone and use it for a consistent purpose, we are placing ourselves in further jeopardy.
Success Criteria
There are no guarantees that this initiative will deliver a better commercial outcome for growers. It will however help to provide a significantly better chance of voicing our concerns and attracting commercially interested parties.
We need to be wary that some commercial parties will seek to take advantage of opportunities to gain land, resources and our commodity with little or no regard for the growers. We need to ensure that commercial opportunity occurs with responsible parties that respect growers and will foster a commercial win/win for all parties.
